Step 9. Tips On Reassembly

Putting the unit back together pretty much requires doing the reverse of all the previous steps! So if you need help in putting it all back in place, review each step in reverse! A couple of things to remember when you are putting it back together. The pictures below show how the wires from the little board can block the infrared transmitter/receiver, be sure to tuck them away!

Be sure to replace all screws, and don't forget to put the ROM back on!

  • There are two screws that hold the Main Board to the Display Module
  • There are two screws for the ROM
  • Remember to recconect all those Ribbon Cables! Push the clips back in so that the Cable will not pull out when you gently tug on it!
Also, make sure that you did not lose the serial port protector (is another name for it?) plastic tab thingy from the bottom of the device!
Be sure to not pinch any wires when you reattach the Plastic Shell together at the plastic clips on the side. The picture below should help! The first time I did this, i pinched the wire from the backup battery in the stylus area. I had to push real hard to get my stylus back in place!

When you put the four screws, remember to reattach the main battery compartment's black plastic battery tab (do you like my names for these things? :) )

Finally, all back in place! Just replace the batteries, and you will be ready to test your device!
